WAC Lighting Sponsors Long Island Science Fair

Garden City, N.Y.-based WAC Lighting is encouraging the next generation of engineers and scientists from its home turf, Long Island, as it helps fund the Invitational Science Fair, held by The Research Association. The announcement, made by WAC president Shelley Wang, subsidizes the event for the next five years.

According to Tai Wang, co-founder and vice president of WAC Lighting, “We are honored to sponsor the Invitational Science Fair and believe that investing in today’s science students will help develop tomorrow’s business and science leaders.”

The fair will be called the WAC Lighting Foundation Invitational Science Fair and is held every April. It features eight major categories (Environmental Science, Prototype Engineering, Biochemistry, General Biology, Behavioral Science, Chemistry, Physical Science, and Computer Science) with winners selected from projects performed by high school seniors and underclassmen. Nearly 400 students participate annually. Awards and scholarships are presented to first, second, and third place winners as well as honorable mentions.
